Who would shy away from the flash of the paparazzi?  Not this client or this design. This living room is all about glamour, whether in the furnishings, the colors or the finishes.  Our client wanted a moderne, elegant look that reflected her sense of style as a successful, metropolitan woman.  She wanted a space that paid homage toHollywood, circa 1940, where glitz and elegance reigned supreme.  When we got called back, our client was delighted to see the selection of rich flooring, classic Nielson lighting, and mirrored tables, all set in a room that was dramatic, sophisticated and chic.

We made sure to balance the glitz and glamour with warm grey walls, which also provided a keen backdrop for the black and white color scheme throughout the room.  This design drew its inspiration from the two leather red club chairs found at auction, and they took us back in time.  We articulated our color story through a custom glass art installation, the shapes which played up the idea of cameras flashing while the stars walk down the red carpet.  Mirrored tables, picture frames, and objets d’art brought shimmer to the room. The plushNew Zealandwool zebra sculpted rug added the final touch to our design and added a bit of whimsy, consistent with our firm’s design philosophy.

We are quite proud of this room and won’t shy away from saying…we think this room could be nominated for an Oscar for Best Directing.
